Aikido... Yin and Yang Nonsense.

Yin and Yang. The theory of opposites? In my Aikido there are no opposites and there is no opposition. I will go as far as to say the translation of yin and yang being that of complimentary opposites is quite crazy really.

Firstly most people grab on to the 'opposite' part of that definition and then try to find things which are opposite to each other and theorise that a balance of the two is what it's all about. Secondly they seem to miss the word complimentary. By doing so they fail to see the insanity in the reasoning like for example good and bad. They are not complimentary and thus they are not complimentary opposites obviously.

I would say the whole subject has been misinterpreted even by those so called experts in the field. Logically, or rather logically according to a certain level of logic those things called opposite are not even opposite. A man is not opposite to a woman, good is not opposite bad, yin and yang exists beyond such thinking.

Yin nad yang is the Theory of Complimentary Infinites.

Aikido..The Secret

Aikido has a secret. Ueshiba had a secret. The secret, hidden in plain sight, is THE SECRET. shin no budo. That's the secret.

Budo is love....Ai is love and also indeed harmony.

90% of budo, or I would say 99% of budo of all types and descriptions including those 'special' internal arts are fear based. Thus budo is fear based. However Ueshiba's Budo is not fear based and that is why it is to such a great degree not vaguely understood by over 90%.

Love. What does it do? Well, it supports. What else? It unites. Unity. On the path to oneness...shin no budo.

Now, contrary to this we have fear. Fear is unhealthy. Forget all the rubbish that's ever been said about fear being healthy for that is just fear talking. Fear leads to the majority of budo and is the tool of jaki.

What else does fear do? Fear creates. Fear is a very creative energy. Through fear one creates all manner of stupid things, all manner of problems and hindrances, all manner of everything detrimental to all. Plus where does fear lead to? Hate. It leads to separation, it leads to being against, it leads to opposing, it leads to the craving of making self strong and unaffected and strong and able to cause harm.

It leads to living and organizing life based on what you don't like. It's suprising how many folk organize in such a way....organization based on fear.

Yet Ueshiba's Aikido is about confidence and oneness. Confidence....does this contain fear? Indeed not and what is ultimate confidence? Faith. True faith. Such true faith would only make all religions better. It doesn't reside in fear but only in love and oneness.

In my religion worrying is a sin.

To be led by your own fear or to be be led by others fears is to be led to disater.

The Spirit of Loving Protection

Another principle of Shin no Budo.....Aikido. Another not widely understood principle. Everyone 'speaks it' but few use it or understand it.

Budo is love and from this comes the spirit of loving protection. Ueshiba said the spirit of loving protection for all things.....I add the word GOOD.

How to see this, how to know this, how to understand this.....and how to practice this?

Well let me introdfuce you to a thing well talked about in martial arts circles and that is OPENINGS. All martial arts look for openings and creating openings. What for? In order to strike...to defeat...to dominate...to control. Ha....even most Aikido talks very expertly in the same manner. Shame. Just shows me they don't understand shin no budo, yet to awaken to the truth.

In Aikido using the spirit of loving protection and standing in the void you are already completely open so anyone need not search for an opening. You give them what they want...you give them their target...feel free. This is Aikido. You give for you are not interested in self defence. There is no 'self defence' in Aikido.

What happens when they attack? The naturally give you their openings. The mptions of Aikido leave you precisely at their openings. But do you attack them? Do you take advantage and harm them? No....that's not Aikido. You protect them using the openings given. Following the spirit of loving protection.

When for example a person attacks and you do for instance Iriminage. One hand naturally may rest on the others neck.....a presented opening. You don't karate chop the neck do you? You don't even grab or like some I see grab the collar....no, no, no. You give loving protection. Protecting them from themselves. Cuddling like you would a baby. Turning solid into liquid. Then returning them to peace. Shin no budo.

Thus you protect the attacker...from himself....from jaki.....This is Aikido.
